Lilya is the oldest child in St. Nicholas, she is 17 now. She was born in February 1991. Her parents didn't care for her, so her grandmother took responsibility for the girl. But the old lady was really violent, sometimes punishing for misbehaving the 5-year old grandchild by drowning her in a bath. Lilya has been living in our orphanage for the last eleven years. She is a beautiful girl and she has typical interests for the girl of her age: she likes to make friends, to sms and chat online. Last summer Lilya had a chance to get a job in the "real world", working for three months of summer holidays as a waitress in a restaurant. She was really enthusiastic about this experience and she showed herself as a very laborious and responsible employee. Lilya wants to become a hairdresser and we are trying to raise money for her tuition. The cost of the 2 year program is estimated at $1,700.

(Thank You to Lee Santilli for sponsoring Lilya's tuition!!)

Nastya is a nice and loving girl. She was born on Christmas Eve of 1994. She is 13 now. Her mother gave birth to Nastya and her older brother Pavel when she herself was only 16. She didn't care about the children. Nastya came to our orphanage in April 2007, after the death of her father. Though Nastya is a charming girl, she avoids smiling fully, as her teeth desperately require braces. Braces for Nastya would cost $850 and we need to raise this money for her treatment. You may watch a short video about Nastya from the local TV-news. (Thank You to Lee Santilli for sponsoring Nastya's braces!!)

Egor is 14. He was born in May 1993. His mother died when he was two and a new step-mother turned the 5-year old child out of the house. Egor lived at the rubbish collector until he was collected by police and later brought to the orphanage. He's been living in St. Nicholas for the last eight years. Egor is undoubtedly the most boisterous child in our orphanage. It's very easy to tell whether he's is already back from school or not as his loud voice and laugh could be heard throughout the orphanage. He is a keen sportsman, devoted computer gamer and a gifted artist who already starred in several performances of our art studio. Our hope is that one day Egor would become a successful showman.

Thank you to Jeffrey Stovich...

Dima has an adorable smile. He is only 7 (he was born in April 2000) but he is already a very gifted actor and dancer. None of those who have seen this tiny child on stage remained unaffected, as his performances move the viewers' hearts and cause ovations. Dima is always full of energy and he really loves to entertain children and adults with his stories, songs and jokes. Dima has two older brothers, who also live in the orphanages.

Thank you to Ashli Lovitt...

Victor is 6. He was born in April 2001. Both of his parents were drug-addicts. His father died in prison when he was two and his mother didn't care about him. In 2004 Victor arrived in St. Nicholas . Victor is a very sporty guy. It's hard to get him out of the orphanage gym. He also has quite a strong character. Any pressure could make him very stubborn, but if you treat him with love and care he is eager to move mountains for you. He is a very responsible boy and has done a big progress since he started his classes at school last September. You may watch a short video about Victor from the local TV-news.

Thank you to The Crowther Family...
