This shelter located in St. Petersburg is one of the Commune's divisions. It hosts
"crisis apartment" for 6-8 street children in transitional period and full-scale day activities center. The shelter could not
be opened until ths shower was instaled. All remodeling and installation
work was performed by the children and volunteers. The pictures below show the shower one day
before completion. Shower booth and some plumbing was installed the next day.
We would like to express our most sincere and deepest gratitude. Thank You for taking our problems close to your heart and giving a brotherly helping hand to our children.
Our Commune is going through tough times because of undergoing economical reforms in Russia. In the conditions of rebuilding of our country, we survive without state support and continue helping children, abandoned by everyone else. We unite efforts of people, who feel hardships and pain of these children as their own.
Every person has a right to have normal life and break free of poverty and injustice. Thank You and Фонд Помощи Русским Сиротам "Восхождение", for its noble mission. People of America and Russia have always been united in their souls, regardless of the politics. The same blood flows in our veins.
