This state orphanage is taking care of infant orphans requiring most delicate attention. It is very poorly supported by the state. Their washers for clothes are very old. They used to dry children's clothes by hanging it on the ropes and by blowing air on them. This new washing machine is fully automatic including heating the water. The city of Vladivostok is dependent on central water supply and heating system it has not seen hot water since last April.

Vladivostok Orphanage for Infants expresses deepest gratitude to Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation and its president Kirill Bogouslavski for providing financial support at this difficult for us time. Automatic washing machine and food supplied by the foundation are crucial to our survival. We know Kirill since 1995 and he has helped us in the past.

State financial support is not sufficient even for minimal survival level for our 90 infants. We have to rely on additional support from charitable funds and private donors to provide food for the children, appliances and building upkeep. We hope for continuing support from the Ascent Foundation in raising necessary funds for the projects at our orphanage.
