They can't afford good quality dietary supplements on what they recieve from the municipality, so they need our help to purchase the necessary vitamins and medicines to keep the children healthy this year! Most of the children arrive at the orphanage allready sick or weakened due to harsh living conditions and lack of proper nutrition!! The improved quality and consistent supply of vitamins will increase the overall health in the children and help them rebuild their immunities to viruses and infections. Photos Project’s Budget: Medicine and other hygenic products - 47290 rubles (original in Russian) Vitamins for the winter season - 19470 rubles (original in Russian) Camera for project reporting - 17270 rubles Grand total: 83980 rubles "And there is another big problem – more important than computers – children get sick more often. And the real winter is still to come!!! We have been having cases of dysentery for two months already. Some children had to be taken to hospital and we have to find money for regular medication for them. Yesterday we had a snowfall, it got cold and today we have already two kids going to hospital with the diagnosis of acute respiratory infection, three children are in our isolation ward with fever. And these are mostly younger kids who get sick first. I had a meeting with our medical personnel to try to figure out what causes these bursts of epidemics, and the summery would be as follows: 1. Children get to the orphanage immunocompromised. We do not have problems with warm clothes, but vitamins. We need good complex of vitamins and minerals (all the time) that would strengthen immune system of our children. Head Master - Y.A. Bozhko ...update...The pharmacy was very generous and gave a 20% discount on the vitamins so they were able to purchase a stethoscope, tonometer, spatula, and various other medical supplies for the nurses at the orphanage!! Thank You Pharmacy Irina!! Receipts |
