Washing Machine & Kitchen Appliances for Olga Orphanage As of 10/3/2008 Donated: $2,400.00; Sent to Orphanage: $2,400.00; Status: Project is in progress… Thanks for kind donations: Traude Nestler (In Memory of Willi Wulf), Sergei Kaduk, Lee Santilli, Photos Project Description The Olga Orphanage situated in a remote northern district of the Primorsky region (town of Dalnegorsk) 350 Miles from Vladivostok. The orphanage’s laundry room was equipped with two washing machines of the activator type: one automatic and one semi-automatic. As of right now, both machines are out of order. They were taken to a repair shop in the town of Kavalerovo. The service provider has determined that the machines were beyond repair since they were completely worn out. Right now, children’s underwear and clothes are washed using a machine lent by one of the orphanage staff members. Therefore two washing machines are needed for the orphanage – one automatic and another semi-automatic. Additionally, the orphanage's kitchen is not equipped with a water heater, so that there is no hot water in the kitchen. Lack of hot water in the kitchen is against the rules and regulations of sanitation control bureau. Also, the kitchen is lacking a food processor and an electric meat grinder. Pots, pans and cutting boards have been in use for 5-7 years. To be able to store food for more than a few days the orphanage also badly requires a freezer chest. Project’s Budget: Materials: Washing machine, automatic - 17000 roubles Washing machine, semi-automatic - 9000 roubles Water heater (80 liter capacity) - 8500 roubles Chest freezer - 12000 roubles Electric meat grinder - 2500 roubles Food processor - 4000 roubles Pots, pans and etc. -Pots, 20 liter capacity (2 each, at 800 roubles per pot) - 1600 roubles -Pots, 10 liter capacity (4 each, at 400 roubles per pot) - 1600 roubles -Cutting Boards (10 each, 100 roubles per board) - 1000 roubles -Frying Pans (3 each, 600 roubles per pan) - 1800 roubles Water heater installation fee - 3000 roubles Grand Total: Materials and Labor – 62,000 rubles ($2,400) Supporting Documents Washing Machine Estimates - in Russian Kitchen Appliances Estimates - in Russian Receipt 1 Receipt 2
