Project Description Makeevka Snowdrops is a public orphanage located in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. It is home to approximately 70 children between the ages of 2-12. Forty-eight caregivers provide for their needs. Most of these children will remain in Snowdrops until being transferred to boarding schools at the age of 12. Until the age of 12 they attend a local public school. The purpose of this project is to provide a major overhaul of the orphanages' recreational area. The current area is small and in poor repair, basically un-usable except for very minor activities. Currently it is used to store old broken furniture that the orphanage cannot use anymore. The toilets and shower are marginal at best and crammed into a small closet-like space. The project wil provide more modern, comfortable showers for the children so that they can bathe on a regular basis.
