Project Description

The Gorlovka Baby Hospital has a special department dedicated to the treatment and care of orphans, abandoned children, and children removed from parental custody. These little ones range in age from birth to age of four. While the building itself is in good condition, there is little medical equipment available to doctors and nurses who care for the children.

The primary purpose of this project is to provide equipment that will improve the sanitary and safety conditions within the hospital. Refrigerators are required for the safe storage of foods, formulas, and medicines. Because blood and other stains are not being removed from linens and diapers, a large industrial washing machine is necessary so that that the large amounts of laundry produced can be properly sterilized. New beds are needed due to unsafe conditions presented by the old ones. Additionally a microwave is needed to warm foods and bottles.

Project’s Budget:
2 refrigerators - $963
Industrial washing machine - $749
Microwave – $214
20 beds – $3403
Grand total: $5329
