Russian Orphanages


Hope Family Commune is non-state non-profit institution with a goal of social rehabilitation of orphans and homeless children in St. Petersburg and Karelia. The commune runs an educational center, day activities center, soup kitchen, temporary housing, shelter for homeless children, farmer's commune and summer activities camp for underprivileged children.

Serzhantovo Orphanage is a shelter for orphaned and homeless children. It houses and educates 59 orphans from Serzhantovo village in the Dalnegorsk Region, 350 miles from Vladivostok.

Shushkovo Orphanage is located 180 kilometers from Pskov. It accommodates 97 children ages 7-18 who are orphans or children without adequate parental care.

Urik Shelter is located 10 miles outside of Irkutsk. There are 40 children staying there at any given time. While at the shelter the children receive social, medical, and physical rehabilitation until they can be placed with a good family or orphanage.

Vladivostok Orphanage #1 for Children with Physical or Mental Deficiencies is a state Russian orphanage in Vladivostok that is taking care of 60 children ages 3 to 12 all with physical or mental deficiencies.

Russian Orphanages with no Active Projects

Artem Orphanage #2 is home to 110 orphans with physical and mental deficiencies located in Artem, Russia. Children range in age from 3 months to 4 years.

Vladivostok Orphanage for Infants with Psychoneurotic Deficiencies cares for 89 infants ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years, all with physical or neurological challenges.

Pokrovka Orphanage is a shelter for orphaned, homeless and runaway children that houses and educates 140 orphans in a remote Pokrovka village 300 miles from Vladivostok.

Vladivostok Children Aid Society is a public nonprofit organization that gives orphans a family, creates all necessary conditions for complete family education and helps orphans learn what is family relationship. They also provide financial and educational support to other Russian orphanages and shelters.

"Child Protection" Regional Public Charitable Foundation is a private non-profit foundation that works with orphaned, homeless and neglected children in St. Petersburg.

"Rescuer's School" Center for Psychological Rehabilitation of Homeless Children is a state homeless children shelter in Samara that hosts 15 homeless kids using interaction between the children in the outdoors environment to assist their rehabilitation and adaptation into society.

St. Nicholas Orphanage is the only Catholic orphanage in Siberia and one of the few non-state orphanages in Russia. It accommodates 40 children ages 3-17 in the city of Novosibirsk.

Horol Orphanage is situated in a far-away northern district of the Primorsky region (town of Yaroslavski) 370 Miles from Vladivostok. There are 170 children in the orphanage between the ages of 3 and 18.

Irkustsk Orphanage #2 is an orphanage for severly disabled children. There are 256 boarders in the Orphanage age from 4 to 18.

Olga Orphanage is a shelter for orphaned and homeless children. It houses and educates 36 orphans from Olga village in the Dalnegorsk Region, 350 miles from Vladivostok.

Homeless Girls Shelter "Malookhtinsky Dom Trudolyubiya" is a state homeless girls shelter in St. Petersburg that provides medical, psychological and pedagogical aid, as well as social and legal protection for 51 neglected and disadvantaged adolescent girls aged 13-18.
