Artem Orphanage #2Head Physician : Natalya Nikolaevna MashukovaAddress: 3/1 Lenina St, Settlement Factory, City of Artem, 692436, Primorye Territory , Russia Phone: (+7) 42337-94416 GUZ (city health organization) District Specialized Orphanage #2 was opened January 1, 1978 due to the decree #1432 from December 23, 1977. It was established on the bases of kindergarten #2, Artemovsk village, and was formerly known as District Psycho Neurological Orphanage #2. On July 17, 1998, the committee on municipal educational properties of the Artem city had decreed to rename the establishment into Municipal, Therapeutic and Treatment Facility Psycho Neurological Orphanage. Children first arrived on April 25, 1978 and this date is considered to be the birthday of the orphanage. This establishment was dedicated to be a medical treatment facility for children invalids who were left without parental care. It was planned to house 90 children. But life goes on and in the course of time the staff and children realized that this building was not suitable any longer. It was cramped and there were no opportunities to treat and educate children. Hence, we petitioned the city's Health Administration about expansion. Decree #141 was passed on 7/6/1999, “To expand capacity of the Psycho Neurological Orphanage” A former kindergarten, at 3/1 Lenin St. , Zavodskoj village was repurposed and thus the capacity was expanded to house 110 children. After minor repairs due to lack of funds, on June 1, 2000, the move was completed from Artemovsk to Zavodskoj village. From that day forward, our children have received the opportunity to live and work in these spacious, bright buildings. Here we found the opportunity to bring to life complex programs to rehabilitate children who for various reasons were left without parental care. It is our purpose to restore and to create optimal conditions for children's living. At the present time we have 110 children in our care. N.N. Mashukova |
