Russian Orphans Receive Much Needed Shoes
Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation Successfully Completes First Project

Kihei, HI - August 20, 2003 - Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation announced today the successful completion of the Summer School Shoes for Kids program. This pilot program resulted in provision of new shoes for needy children at the Rescuer's School located in Samara, Russia.

Working in coordination with Viktor Voronov the vice-director of the Rescuer's School, in Samara, Russia, the Ascent Foundation provided much needed funding for shoes to allow these orphans to participate in outdoor expeditions which are a key element of their program of child rehabilitation.

"We thank Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation for their continuing support of our organization. Our rehabilitation program relies on self-regulation of the children's community in the outdoors environment", stated Viktor Voronov. "Ascent has sent us money to buy summer shoes for our expedition this summer. Buying these shoes was absolutely essential for continuation of our program."

The foundation is currently raising money for appliances for the rescuer's school. Other projects include: building infrastructure at Hope Family Commune in Karelia, Russia; and, Nadezhda Homeless Children's shelter in St. Petersburg, Russia.

"We are extremely proud of our pilot project and believe it is just the beginning to many more successful programs in the Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation's future," said Kirill Bogouslavski, President of the foundation. "This first project is critical in demonstrating to current and future donors that money raised through the Ascent Foundation translates into making a real difference in Russian orphan's lives."
