MAUI DANCERS STEPPING OUT FOR A GOOD CAUSE
The Biggest Salsa Dance Party on Maui raised $1,340 for the orphans!

October 28, 2003 - Kihei, HI Record crowds are expected at the second talent-packed "Latin Dance Benefit" to be held on Sunday, November 9, from 7-11 p.m. at Hapa's Breuhaus in Kihei. The first Latin Dance Benefit, held September 29th was a huge success, attracting the largest assemblage of Salsa dancers on Maui, and raising over $1000 to help build a shower for orphans and homeless children in Russia. Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation, the non-profit charity hosting the event, immediately dispatched 100% of the Benefit's proceeds to institutions in Russia.

Ascent President, Kirill (Kira) Bogouslavski expressed gratitude for the extraordinary response by the public, saying, "We thank the people of Maui for their generous support of our organization. We are extremely happy that we attracted so many people. Now we are able to mobilize much needed assistance for the shelters and orphanages, making a real difference in Russian orphan's lives. I am very much looking forward to the next event, which promises to be very exciting and lots of fun. The talent is awesome".

The November 9th, Latin Dance Benefit will begin at 7 p.m. sharp with a free salsa lesson taught by Kira, followed by Live music by Neto and Dr. Nat bands, and dance performances in various Latin styles. Festivities end at 11 p.m. Bogouslavski promised, "This is just the beginning to many more successful programs for Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation." Tickets are $10 at the door. Ascent Russian Orphan Aid Foundation is a non-profit charity that spends up to 100% of donations to provide basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter to Russian orphans and homeless children. They do not receive any compensation for their work and pay for all operating expenses out of their own pocket. Monies contributed go directly to an orphanage to help complete a project selected by a donor. All orphanages and shelters that receive help are registered non-profit organizations in Russian Federation that have at least a 5-year record of accomplishment.
