For the past two years, " Vladivostok " newspaper together with World Association for Children and Parents, have been spearheading an initiative dedicated to disadvantaged children. The meeting, at which Mr. Bogouslavski discussed his charity fund of a new kind, was part of this initiative. Last month $2,600 worth of air conditioners were purchased for the Vladivostok Children's Home on donations collected by the Americans. $1,000 more were earmarked for new specialized freezer. The fund's President of has emphasized that 100% of donations money is used for orphans' needs. In addition, Mr. Bogouslavski has talked about a recent Rotary Clubs conference at which "OrphanAct," a complex regional aid program, was discussed. Either Vladivostok or Sakhalin might serve as location of the pilot program.
